How can I use a Drone

What can a drone do?

A drone is a tool with amazing abilities. With an operational area of 1 km and a ceiling of 400 ft (CAA regulated operational parameters) and flying at 40+ mph there isn’t much a drone cannot achieve. However, sometimes its interesting to see a list of operations which a drone could save time and money.

Photography and Videography

In the past the only way to get aerial footage was to hire a helicopter or small plane. The costs of this was immense and very time consuming. Plus the down wash of the helicopter is difficult to disguise on your final footage.

Drones are incredibly small and light, relatively inexpensive and therefore can really capture an experience like never before. With their GPS and visual positioning capabilities they are uniquely capable of flying in all directions and altitudes whilst their 3 axis gimbals smooth out the camera to ensure the footage is silky.

Aerial Inspections

Drones are perfectly suited for the purposes of aerial inspections. So whether its a bridge, building safety inspection or any other hard to reach structure that you need to inspect regularly a drone could save you a fortune in time and money.

Drones are equipped with HD cameras,  and can be fitted with heat sensors to allow for real-time analysis of the data collected. In the past Inspection projects that would normally take days of work which can be eliminated by using drones.

Sell you Home

With more of us checking out the internet for details on property to buy its becoming more important to make your property stand out. A drone image or video from an angle which is impossible with a standard camera and tripod can make all the difference.

If your estate is fairly large this new perspective can engage the potential purchaser and demonstrate all the features of your home both inside and out from the comfort of their own home.

Construction

Sometimes its useful to have an aerial shot of the land you are developing. OK so there is Google satellite imagery but this tends to be inconsistent and usually out of date. We can use a drone to capture your plot from all the angles you need for planning and 3D visualisation backdrops.

During the construction you may wish for a drone flying a pre-specified path to capture the build progress and then repeat this going forward – the result is a moving time lapse video which looks much more interesting than the alternatives.

Crop Monitoring

Agronomists spend their time walking their fields looking for signs within their crops that may need attention. Drones are wonderful for flying pre-programmed missions to capture high definition images of the land and crops. This way, farmers can see if their irrigation systems are working, how their plants are growing, even see if any of the plants are sick by using infrared technology fitted to the drone.
