St Edmundsbury Cathedral
In June of this year we were fortunate to be allowed to fly a drone inside the Cathedral, firstly to take some photographs for post cards which are on sale in the gift shop, secondly to add to our show real and experience.
Flying in-doors is completely different to outside, we can no longer rely on the super stable GPS positioning and instead use our manual flying techniques only. We also discovered that there is a strong airflow within the building making shots near the ceiling more difficult to control.
Last week, the Cathedral web team asked if we could create a short movie from the footage we had, we were super pleased as we needed the motivation to revisit the footage and get creative.
The editing took a little while as we agonise over the background music, suitable colour grading where to accelerate the footage etc – finally we have a short video which is due to feature on the Cathedral’s web site or you can take a look right here.
